For each client, I use different modalities to address the client's concerns; Fascial Counterstrain, deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, and myofascial release. I address postural patterns, past or current injuries, nervous system settling, while promoting soft tissue release and improve function in all body systems.
Fascial Counterstrain is a gentle, subtle, and highly effective modality that works by attuneing to one's fascial network (our connective tissue and largest sensory organ) through a tender point system. Fascia not only connects muscles to other muscles and muscles to bones, but internal organs, blood vessels, nerve bundles, and more are all surrounded by this brilliant network of sensory tissue that has a tendency to become restriction and "knotted". With Counterstrain, I am able to locate where there is restricted fascia that's causing pain and inflammation, and release it in a gentle way. Counterstrain is done over clothing, and is a passive treatment meaning the client is relaxed throughout treatment as the practioner assess and treats.

Treating jaw pain or TMD (temporomandibular disorders, also called TMJ) can fall between the cracks of dental or medical care. Either way, it highly impacts the muscles and fascia of the jaw, head, face, and neck.
I am trained and endorsed in intraoral massage; myofascial release of the muscles of the mouth, jaw, face, and neck from the outside and inside of the mouth.
This work is beneficial for every body, as the mouth, neck and jaw often hold tension and emotional stress.
Intraoral massage is more specifically beneficial to issues such as chronic jaw pain, TMD, whiplash, headaches/migraines, and orthodontia.
This work is best done within a few sessions to promote subtle, yet effective, change in the intricate system that is the jaw.
